The mausoleum is one of the few monuments in Tashkent dating to the epoch of the Timurids. ''Yunus Khan'' (1415-1487) was a descendant of ''Gengiz Khan'' and grandfather of the Indian moghul ''Babur''. The building was erected in the 15th century and restored several times.
