Rhoddwyd Grace Jones ar ei phrawf yn 1786 am ddwyn brethyn. Cyn iddi gael ei 'halltudio y tu draw i'r moroedd' o Lerpwl ar y ail lynges ar ei hynt i Awstralia - tynged ar y cyd a throseddwyr eraill yr oes - bu hi'n garcharores yng Ngharchar Rhuthun. Grace Jones was put on trial in 1786 for stealing

cloth. Before being 'transported beyond the seas' from Liverpool - a fate in common with other criminals of the day - she had been a prisoner in Ruthin Gaol.
