The Greyhound This building is the second Greyhound public house on this site. Its predecessor was a three storey Georgian style property, built around 1797. The Greyhound Stands on the High Street section once occupied by The Grete (or Great) House. It was first recorded in 1532, when owned by the
London brewer thomas Knight, and it was not demolished undi 1868.
