Montego Bay, Jamaica
Sam Sharpe Square is the centrepiece of downtown Montego Bay, a cobblestone town square lined with Georgian buildings, monuments, and active street vendors. It is named after Sam Sharpe, Jamaica’s national hero who was hanged here on 23 May 1832 after leading the Christmas Rebellions of 1831.
