Ruijanpolku

35 km trail through Sompio to Laanila, part of the former trail between Bothnian Bay and the coast of Finnmark (Finnish: ''Ruija'') at the Arctic Ocean. It is mentioned as early as in the 16th century, but fell in disuse at the beginning of the 19th century. This section is now a marked hiking trail

(some of the historic markings remain).
