Murphy's Hotel - 1898 Verandahs and balconies were once a part of the Rokeby Road and Hay Street frontage of the hotel, and a metal coated spire rose high above the existing corner tower. The spire became unsafe and was removed following the 1968 earthquake. J. B. Murphy, the hotel's first publican,

was patron of the Subiaco Football Club in its early years.
