plaque № 84984

Weymouth, Dorset, England, United Kingdom

D-Day Memorial Plaque, 6 June 1944. During the Normandy landings, American GIs queued around this building awaiting their turn to embark vessels bound for France. Many of them inscribed their names or initials on this wall using their bayonet. For many, this would be their final parting message. Thi
