Barston Pound. This Pound was sited here, next to two cottages, known as 'Shepherds cottages'. These were occupied by shepherds of the Forest of Arden, which covered this area, and the pound was for their use. The two thatched cottages which now occupy the site date from the late 17th century and re

placed the original dwellings.
