Märsta railway station is a railway station located in Märsta in Sigtuna Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. Situated 36.5 km north of Stockholm Central Station, it lies on the East Coast Line (Swedish: Ostkustbanan). The station serves long-distance and regional SJ trains and, since 1968, has b

een the northern terminus for Stockholm's commuter trains. The station originally opened in 1876, ten years after the inauguration of the Stockholm–Uppsala railway line. The current station building, constructed in 1914, was severely damaged by a fire in May 2000. Although demolition was initially considered, the building was ultimately rebuilt.
