Maison achetée par Alexandra David-Neel en 1928, à son retour de treize ans de voyage en Extrême-Orient. Elle y a vécu jusqu'à sa mort en 1969, à plus de cent ans. La maison a été agrandie à cinq reprises pour abriter ses nombreuses collections d'objets orientaux.
