Headingley Hall. The medieval manor house of Headingley almost certainly stood here. The Hall was rebuilt in the 17th century and 1831-6. Residents included John Killingbeck, Mayor of Leeds 1677, George Hayward, Land Agent of the Earl of Cardigan, and his son George J. W. Hayward, born here 1839, in
trepid explorer in Central Asia.
