The Gijsbrecht van Aemstelpark is a linear urban park in Buitenveldert, in the borough of Amsterdam-Zuid, Netherlands. It extends for approximately 2,150 m (1.34 mi) from the Amstelveenseweg in the west to the Europaboulevard in the east, with a maximum width of about 230 m (750 ft) and an area of a
pproximately 27.1 ha (67 acres). Running across the full east–west width of Buitenveldert, the park forms an important green and ecological corridor between the entrance to the Amsterdamse Bos and the Amstelpark. The western section connects to the Amsterdamse Bos, while the eastern section was conceived as an extension of the Amstelpark. The central section, between the Buitenveldertselaan and Van Leijenberghlaan, has been protected as a Dutch Rijksmonument since 27 November 2015. It is considered a rare and well-preserved example of the influence of Nieuwe Zakelijkheid and post-war functionalism on Dutch landscape architecture.
