This corner is dedicated to the memory of George Edgar Alcock (1902-1975) who lived in Christchurch Park, and played a leading part in saving its almost unique avenue of copper beeches. This led to the formation in 1959 of the Sutton & Cheam Society, of which he was the honorary secretary until 1973
