Situated between the First and Second ridges of the northern Watchung Mountains, the preserve occupies the site of the fo

rmer Haledon Reservoir, which previously supplied water to North Haledon, Haledon, and Prospect Park. Passive recreation opportunities include hiking, fishing, and bird watching.
