THE ASHTON MARKET TRADER 'Uncle John' the Pieman John Harrison was well-known throughout Ashton for his generosity to the poor during hard times in the late 1800's. Unveiled 23rd September 2005 by the Civic Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Jacqueline Lane.
