St Margaret Chapel. On this site stood the 14th century St. Margaret Chapel, the first known church in Exmouth. Probably built as a votive chapel by the monks of Sherborne Abbey as a resting place when traveling to their lands in Torbay. In the 18th century it was leased as a tailor and by the middl

e of the 19th century it was a butchers shop. It was demolished in the mid 1970s to make way for the Magnolia Centre.
