Northampton, West Northamptonshire, England, United Kingdom
The Notre Dame convent boarding and day schools stood on this site from 1852 to 1975, devotedly administered by the sisters of Notre Dame De Namur. The impressive frontage on Abington Street was completed in 1890. In 1873 the sisters built St. Mary's School on The Mounts. The extensive grounds acros
s the mews housed the beautiful chapel erected in 1880. Here, too, were the tennis courts, playing fields and orchard. The buildings were demolished in 1979.
