Saviour of Wemyss. This plaque is dedicated to the memory of LT. Commander Wilfred Nevill Waller F.A.A. who courageously averted crashing his Sea Fury plane on the village of East Wemyss on the 2nd July 1948. He narrowly missed cottages at Newton Farm and was killed in a field beyond. Also commemora

ted are Mary-Pryde Nicholson and Charles Andrews Newton Farm who bravely attempted to rescue the pilot from the blazing aircraft.
