An active businessman during the first half of the twentieth century, Dolson served four terms (1943-1950) as Galveston's finance commissioner. He also was

a prominent civic and religious leader who received Papal honors for service to his community and to the Catholic Church. Dolson and his wife, Catherine (Norris) lived in this home, built in 1907 for
