The Francis Newton This building is the former Broombank House, which was built in the 1820's for the wealthy cutlery manufacturer, Francis Newton, for whom this pub is named. In 1844 Newton was elected Master Cutler, the head of the prestigious Company of Cutlers. Sheffield is the cutlery capital o
f the world. The premises were refurbished by JD Wetherspoon in February 2010.
