Badlands Wilderness Overlook is one of several designated overlooks along Sage Creek Rim Road (SD 590) in Badlands National Park, South Dakota. This dirt and gravel road traverses the Sage Creek Wilderness Area, providing access to a series of pull-offs and viewpoints that showcase the park's rugged
beauty. From the overlook, visitors can gaze across the Wilderness Area, a landscape characterized by eroded cliffs, gorges, mesas, and spires, set within expansive mixed-grass prairies. The area is also renowned for its fossil-rich layers, which add a profound geological and paleontological dimension to the scenery.
